Information on your device
Hotelier stores the hotel, dates, booking reference, guest details, and notes you choose to save. Shared confirmations and attachments remain in the import queue until saved or discarded. These files are protected by iOS file protection. Hotelier does not operate an account service, analytics service, advertising network, or tracking system.
Text recognition and Apple Intelligence
Screenshot recognition uses Apple Vision on your device. When available, booking extraction uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. Hotelier does not send your confirmation text or screenshots to an AI server. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, basic local extraction is used. You review the result before saving.
Apple Maps
Searching for hotels sends your search query to Apple Maps. Maps displayed in the app also connect to Apple. Hotelier does not request your device’s current location. Apple processes its services under Apple’s privacy policy.
Optional email forwarding
Email forwarding is optional and requires an inbox service that you configure. Forwarded emails are processed by that service; the included reference service uses Cloudflare. It retains extracted email text until your device queues and acknowledges it, or for up to 30 days. Its operator’s account and backup settings may also affect retention. Hotelier connects to the HTTPS service you enter and stores its access token in your device’s Keychain. No inbox is operated by Hotelier by default.
Sharing and deletion
Sharing a keycard sends the image to the destination you select in the iOS share sheet. Delete a stay from its detail screen to remove that saved booking. Discard a queued confirmation to remove its source from the import inbox. Removing the app deletes its local app and shared-container data when no app in the group remains; iOS backups may retain copies according to your settings. Keychain credentials can persist after uninstall. To remove an inbox token, clear its field in Settings and tap Connect & sync inbox. To delete forwarded emails still on your configured service, contact its operator or delete the service database.

The developer is Johannes Valouch. Privacy questions and deletion requests concerning any service operated by the developer can be sent to johannes@valouch.de. This policy will be updated if Hotelier’s data practices change.

Widgets, reminders and Calendar
Widgets use a limited snapshot in the shared app container. Room numbers are hidden by default; Wi-Fi passwords are never included. Check-out reminders are scheduled locally only when enabled with notification permission. Calendar export opens Apple’s event editor; Hotelier does not read calendars.
Backup files and room-card photos
Backups include saved room and Wi-Fi details but not inbox access tokens. You choose where to save them using Files. Restore adds missing stays without overwriting existing entries. Room-card photos are processed on the device, reviewed before saving, and not retained.
